I have to admit I was hesitant to buy any ADA cards. My husband Andrew and I were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes exactly 24 hours apart in 2005. Sadly, Andrew developed very serious complications and died the morning after our oldest graduated college in May 2009. He insisted on attending the graduation and had to be rushed to the hospital afterwards. Meds for his severe asthma put a lot more weight on him .I am the opposite I am very petite. I was afraid I would feel worse and my holiday spirit even more blue. Quite the opposite. With an aching heart I slowly opened the two boxes when they arrived in just three days even with imprinting ! I did cry but because they were so beautiful and the design is breathtaking. I quickly addressed and stamped all of them and just ordered a third box. Uh oh I may need another !! People love the card and imprinting listing the dates we were diagnosed with diabetes.The kids and I agree ordering ADA cards will be part of our "new normal."Hopefully it will encourage people to donate. I always have to remind people my diabetes has not gone away it did not leave with Andrew as some believe. Amazing. Thank you Claire Fix for a wonderful card. it really gives me a lift !!!
